Automotive industry insiders are warning that despite the recovering car market in the U.S. carmakers in America are building too many cars too fast. Right now, according to Automotive News, there are 3.27 million new cars sitting unsold at dealerships across the nation. This is the highest figure in five years.
However, leaders in the industry say that this number is not a reason to worry. They point to the fact that the average car on the road these days is about 11 years old, which, when combined with interest rates staying as low as they have ever been, means that there are still many Americans who will soon be in the market for a new car.
